Alice Coulam - Vocalist

Alice CoulamA highly talented and charismatic young jazz singer, not to mention possessor of a beautiful and sincere voice and style, Alice is a breath of fresh air in these fast moving times. She has performed with The John Miller Orchestra (nephew of the famous Glenn Miller himself), The Swing Shift Big Band, The Nick Ross Orchestra, Brian Dee and Len Skeet and regularly performs with various artists in her own group. Put all this together and you begin to realise she is fast becoming one to watch for on the jazz scene in the United Kingdom! Alice is also a highly skilled pianist and writer. Her recording and writing credits include co-writer and featured artist on Mark Roberts' "Subway Journey" album and featured artist on Richard Hawley's "Lowedges" album.

 

Lee Hallam - Trombone

Lee Hallam

Originally from South Yorkshire, Lee's career has mainly seen him featured as a big band player with bands such as The Andy Prior Big Band, The John Miller Orchestra and many, many more. Also a highly talented jazz musician, Lee has worked with many of the famous names in jazz such as John Dankworth, Cleo Laine, Jaqui Dankworth, Alan Barnes, Diane Schuur, and Georgie Fame. Lee was awarded an outstanding performance award by the I.A.J.E in 2005 in LA, and "The Archer Scholarship Award" by the Trinity College of Music in June 2006.

 

 

Alan Ladds - Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute

Alan LaddsBorn in Yorkshire, Alan is a rare talent. One of the most exciting saxophonist you'll ever hear, a brilliant arranger and a prominent figure on the London Session scene for many years. Alan has toured with likes of Shorty Rodgers, John Dankworth and The Syd Lawrence Orchestra as well as concert and studio work with John Williams and Paul Hart. Alan has also backed such stars as Bob Hope, The Temptations, Billy Eckstine, Sammy Davis Jnr. and many others.

 

 

Piero Tucci - Piano

Piero TucciCanadian born, Piero has recently emigrated to England. A phenomenally gifted musician, he has been a major figure on the Toronto music scene as musical director, keyboardist, saxophonist, accordionist and arranger in many jazz and R&B bands. He has played with and backed a diverse range of musicians that include The Drifters and 5th Dimension and has opened for James Brown.

 

 

 

Graham Jones - Double Bass

Graham JonesAlthough now best known for his work in the North, Graham originally hails from London where he was active in many different styles of music including jazz, bluegrass, country and cajun. He has appeared with bands at the Albert Hall and in various TV shows, including Jools Holland's early big-band experiments. Since moving North, he has worked with the likes of Nikki Iles, Pete King, Dave Cliff, Alan Barnes and Roy Williams whilst also working on projects with local musicians.

 

 

Bob Howard - Drums

Bob HowardBob has been been playing drums since the age of 9. By now Bob has to be one of the finest all round big band and swing drummers in the country. In the last 20 years he has toured with many well known bands in a variety of situations with big bands such as the NDO the John Miller Orchestra and the Syd Lawrence Orchestra alongside small jazz combos and pop & rock, shows. His recording credits include many TV & radio, appearances, most recently with the Andy Prior Big Band.
